We are delighted to share that Thoresby Vale Primary Academy will receive £240,000 from Nottinghamshire County Council to support our new school with essential furniture and IT equipment.

Opening in September 2025, our academy will be at the heart of the new Thoresby Vale community in Edwinstowe, providing high-quality education for up to 210 pupils. As part of the Diverse Academies Trust, we are committed to delivering an inspiring curriculum with a strong ‘forest school’ ethos, making full use of the beautiful natural surroundings.

This investment marks an exciting step in our journey, ensuring that our school is equipped to offer a stimulating and enriching learning environment for our future pupils.

County Council Leader, Councillor Sam Smith describes how the council is proud to invest in the school: “We are committed to the education of future generations, as it is important to provide an environment in which children can thrive.”

Chief Executive Officer for Diverse Academies Trust, David Cotton, added: “We are incredibly grateful to Nottinghamshire County Council for this significant funding investment which will allow us to offer exceptional facilities from the outset, enhancing the overall learning experience for young children in the local community. Thoresby Vale Primary Academy will offer a rich curriculum coupled with forest-style learning in a state-of-the-art building. We’re very much looking forward to welcoming new families to the academy in autumn.”

A spokesperson from Harworth Group, which is leading the housing development said: “Construction of the new school is progressing swiftly, with key milestones being met on schedule. The structural framework for all four pavilion buildings is now in place, marking a significant step forward in the project. Follow-on works, including facing brickwork, internal flooring, plastering, glazing, and mechanical and electrical installations, are well underway.

“The project remains on track to deliver the school in time for a September intake, and we look forward to delivering a state-of-the-art learning environment for the community”
