As we celebrate the end of our very first academic year at Thoresby Vale Primary Academy, we are looking back with pride at everything we have achieved together.
In just one year, our academy has grown into a thriving community where children are inspired to learn, families feel welcomed, and every day brings new opportunities to explore, achieve and belong.
Learning has reached far beyond the classroom. Our children have welcomed visits from paramedics, artists and even a miniature horse. They have tackled climbing walls, travelled to London for a theatre experience, met an Olympic gold medallist and enjoyed creative workshops throughout the year. Seasonal celebrations, performances and community events have filled our academy with excitement, helping every child create lasting memories.
To end the year we held our very first thor fest, and what a celebration it was! It was wonderful to see so many families and members of our local community come together to celebrate everything that makes Thoresby Vale such a special place.
There was something for everyone to enjoy, from craft stalls, face painting and giant garden games to the YMCA gaga ball, a fantastic magician, the ever-popular soak the teacher challenge and a delicious selection of food and drink. The day was full of smiles, laughter and unforgettable moments.
We would like to say a heartfelt thank you to every family who joined us and helped make thor fest such a success. We are also incredibly grateful to everyone who supported the event, including Elevated Pizza Van, George Is Cooking, Manfredi’s Ice Cream and Brew and Volt.
A special thank you to Hilltop Mortgage Solutions for kindly sponsoring the event providing the stage, keepsakes for the children and funding the food stalls. Your generosity helped create a fantastic day for our whole community.
We were amazed by every performer who stepped onto the stage at our TVPA’s got talent contest. The confidence, creativity and determination shown by our children made us incredibly proud.

Although these children took home the top prizes, every performer was a winner. It takes courage to stand in front of an audience, and every child should feel proud of what they achieved.
We cannot wait to welcome both familiar and new faces in September as we continue to grow our wonderful Thoresby Vale community together.
