Welcome to Thoresby Vale Primary Academy

I am proud to welcome and introduce you to Thoresby Vale Primary Academy, which is part of Diverse Academies Trust and set to open its doors to all year groups in September 2025.

Our vision is to inspire, to raise aspirations and to create brighter tomorrows. We want to make a difference in the lives of our children – academically, emotionally and socially. And everything we do is underpinned by our core values – we empower, we respect, we care.

Our new primary academy will follow the statutory framework for the early years foundation stage and the national curriculum. Steeped in forest school philosophy, teaching and learning will be a child-centred process, providing learner inspired, hands-on experiences in the natural environment.

Our academy is represented by a symbol of determination, resilience and resourcefulness – a squirrel, which we have affectionately named ‘Thor’. Squirrels are well known for their skill and ability to never give up and will persevere until successful, and I am confident this will become core to our ethos at the academy.

Across our website you will see examples of children from many of our other primary academies, where we also embrace forest schooling and time spent outdoors.

Closer to our opening date we are planning a number of events in the local community to introduce ourselves and the academy further. For updates of these events please keep an eye on our news and key dates page as well as our  social media channels.

We look forward to meeting you and welcoming your family to our academy when it opens. If you have queries in the interim, please contact us by email at office@thoresbyvaleprimary-ac.org.uk and our team will be happy to help.

Thank you for your interest in our academy.
